Antigua (pronounced An-tee-gah)

Tomorrow at 6am Clint and I leave to go on a nine day adventure to the island of Antigua. We are SO excited and have been waiting for this trip to arrive for a year now. We are staying at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa. Here is a link to pictures of the resort I found on Tripadvisor.

A little about the island of Antigua…
Antigua has 365 beaches, one for each day of the year. Many celebrities maintain homes on the beautiful coast of Antigua including: Giorgio Armani, Oprah, and Eric Clapton. All beaches in Antigua are considered public beaches.

A few items we plan to partake in while visiting the island…
Circumnavigation Cruise
This exclusive tour lays bare the exotic beauty of Antigua's coastline as you cruise in relaxing comfort experiencing the merging of the rugged Atlantic and the tranquil Caribbean Sea. Our experienced guide explains the eco system of the mangroves and you make a stop for snorkeling and swimming at a deserted beach or Green Island. A delicious local lunch is served before you continue this exhilarating journey. An open bar is at your disposal. The magnificent Pillars of Hercules come into view as the wind whips through your hair. A cruise around Nelson s Dockyard affords a historical review of this magnificently preserved legendary naval dockyard. As you make your way back to the hotel the haunting rhythm of Caribbean music fills the air while you engage in fun activities on the boat.
Dolphin Cove-The Encounters
Enjoy learning about these truly unique animals while touching, dancing, singing and even kissing one of our beautiful bottlenose dolphins in deep water. Feel the thrill of riding the dolphin belly to belly as the water rushes by. After this amazing experience, we invite you to spend the day at Dolphin Cove and enjoy all that Dolphin Cove has to offer. Feel the emotion as you watch the Dolphins at play. View the exciting Shark Show, performed by our very own Pirates of Little Port Royal. Interact with our colorful birds and exotic snakes and iguanas. Enjoy Unlimited Mini boat rides, Glass-bottom Kayaking and Interacting with our gentle stingrays with barbs clipped. Go shopping in Little Port Royal , our very own Pirate's Village, where Pirates roam and then Relax on the Pearly white beach on complimentary beach chairs while being caressed by the cool, Caribbean breeze.
